There are many reasons people buy art.
To decorate a wall.
To match a room.
To fill an empty space.
But perhaps the best reason is much quieter.
Meaningful art changes how a home feels.
It slows us down for a moment.
It reminds us of what matters.
It brings back memories, people, or ideas we'd like to keep close.
This is how I interpret what Pablo Picasso meant when he wrote:
"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life."
Not because art solves our problems, but because, in the middle of ordinary days, it gently reminds us who we are.
